NONTHABURI,(NNT) – The Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) will launch a campaign for 2016 to promote healthy lifestyle to help strengthen society.

MOPH undersecretary Sopon Mekthon has revealed the ministry’s campaign to promote the healthy lifestyle among members of the public will contribute to building up a strong society as the New Year’s gift.

The MOPH’s 2016 campaign will focus on providing health care for elderly persons with reduced mobility who might have to stay at home or on the bed. They will be provided services from a Family Doctor team and community network.

Meanwhile, some 700,000 infants aged below four years will be given Polio vaccinations nationwide and disabled persons will be given prosthetics while monks and novices will also be provided health care services.

The campaign is aimed to enhance the sustainability of health care systems and encourage the prevention of diseases to promote healthy lifestyle among the general public.

The MOPH undersecretary added that the ministry will provide free optical check-ups and free glasses to primary school students as gifts for the upcoming National Children’s Day 2016.
