BANGKOK, 28 June 2015 (NNT) – Deputy Government Spokesman Maj. Gen. Sansern Kaeokamnerd on Sunday said it was the premier’s idea to arrange a mobile Cabinet meeting in Chiang Mai province to learn about the local people’s problems firsthand.
The Cabinet would also monitor the progress of urgent government projects and find solutions to drought, the deputy spokesman said. Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha was very concerned about the drought situation and instructed relevant units to solve the problem comprehensively, he said.
The Meteorological Department has forecast the rain will come in August when farmers, especially rice farmers, will be able to start planting crops.
There was nothing special about security measures for the premier and the Cabinet during their Chiang Mai trip this week, Maj.Gen. Sansern added.
