SAMUT SONGKRAM, July 2015, Samut Songkhram Provincial Administration Office, Maritime Enforcement Coordination Center Area 1, Port In – Port Out Controlling Center, the Marine Department, the Fisheries Department, and the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission this morning launched a mobile fisheries legal processing unit.
The units offer all kinds of legal processing services related to fisheries, which include fishing vessel registration, fishing permit and captain & First Mate certificates issuance, to name a few.
The mobile unit also gave lecture on the importance of legal fishing to about 700 fishing personnel who showed up for the registration.
The government has imposed strict fishing regulations on the sector as demanded by the EU since April, in its bid to address the Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated fishing issues in the country and regain trading partners’ confidence in the fisheries sector
