BANGKOK, 21 July 2015, The Ministry of Public Health yesterday met on the implementation of a new In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) baby protection law.
The Deputy Director-General of the Department of Health Service Support Dr. Thares Karasnairaviwong chaired the meeting which discussed the details of the new law that will go into effect on July 31st, 2015.
The law will provide legal guidelines for medical institutes and personnel to follow in conception of IVF babies. It covers the definition of an IVF baby’s legal parental status, while preventing research about the IVF technology for unintended purposes.
