Bangkok – The Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) plans to provide HPV vaccination to children free of charge in a bid to maximize the prevention of cervical cancer in Thailand.
Public Health Ministry Permanent Secretary Sophon Mekthon said the MOPH’s objective is to make sure the people are healthy and safe.
The HPV vaccine will be distributed to Grade 5 students free of charge, with cervical cancer screenings to be provided for free next year.
HPV is a common sexually transmitted infection and may be contagious through skin-to-skin contacts.
