More condos being built along electric train routes

BANGKOK, 14 May 2015,  More condominiums are being built in anticipation of electric rail service extensions in outer Bangkok.

Metropolis Properties Co. Ltd. has announced its new condominium campaign ‘Interchange’, saying the project has a value of five billion baht and will contain 1,770 units.

The units are being sold at a starting price of 1.9 million baht, or 75,000 baht per square meter. It is located near BTS Skytrain stations, which are under construction near Bang-Na – Trad and Teparak roads.

These areas became more expensive after the railway construction was announced. The company said the price of land would increase further, once the BTS Skytrain stations are completed in 2017.

Another real estate agency Knight Frank Charter Co. Ltd. indicated that over the past 5-6 years, 15,900 out of 17,000 new condominium units in the Bang-Na – Samrong area were sold.

The company disclosed that 4,000 units were built last year, due to various railway extensions. The company also predicted that the price of land would climb exponentially, once the train services become available.
