CHIANG MAI, 8 July 2014- Chiang Mai police have apprehended a man with more than 100,000 meth pills in possession.
Chiang Mai Governor Suriya Prasartbundit made the announcement, saying the suspect, Mr. Jumlong Sanyakiatikhun, was arrested with 156,000 methamphetamine pills in possession, while he was on the road heading to Chiang Mai from Prao District.
According to the Governor, the suspect had avoided a checkpoint on the main road but ran into another one on the alternate route. Upon the inspection of the suspect’s vehicle, officials discovered the illicit drugs hidden in the pickup truck.
The suspect confessed to the crime, saying he would be paid 100,000 baht after he delivered the drugs to a client in Chiang Mai.
