Pol. Gen. Torsak Sukvimol, the National Police Chief revealed that preliminary investigations suggest that the perpetrator is currently unable to provide a statement – he has a history of psychiatric treatment at Ratchawithi Hospital and appears to have not adhered to the prescribed medications.

The police have taken into custody a 14-year-old juvenile suspect involved in the shooting incident at Siam Paragon Shopping Center. A multidisciplinary team will coordinate the questioning.

Currently, no details regarding the suspect’s family history or motivations for the act can be disclosed to prevent copycat crimes. Regarding the crime scene, preliminary examinations indicate that the incident started on the M floor and escalated up to the 3rd floor.

The police were able to gain control of the situation and enter the premises within 5 minutes of the incident before apprehending the perpetrator. The mall management has been commended for their training and quick response, which ensured the safety and sheltering of customers during the incident.



The sequence of events is still under continuous investigation, with security camera footage being reviewed to establish a clear timeline. Further details will be provided by the police spokesperson at a later time.

As for the firearm used in the incident, it has been identified as a blank gun, which is modified to fire live ammunition. The source of the gun and how it was brought into the shopping mall is currently under additional scrutiny. (TNA)
