BANGKOK, Thailand – Authorities arrested Narongsak Saephu, also known as Max, 35, for the brutal murder of Ms. Thitirat, 47, a Bolt driver, whose body was found in a roadside ditch along the Nakhon Chai Si-Huai Phlu road in Nakhon Pathom’s Samphatuan subdistrict on September 19. Narongsak was initially apprehended under an outstanding arrest warrant for a prior motorcycle theft case from Min Buri Police Station and was taken into custody for further investigation.
Authorities are now coordinating to bring Narongsak back to the crime scene early on the morning of September 21 to conduct a re-enactment of the murder. Afterward, he will be returned to Min Buri Police Station to face charges related to the motorcycle theft, while police continue to investigate his involvement in the more severe crime of murder.
Pol. Capt. Wanchart Laokorpikit, the lead investigator from Min Buri, took Narongsak to the Min Buri Criminal Court to file charges of theft and opposed bail, citing concerns that Narongsak might flee, as he was involved in a violent crime and is a significant flight risk. While being transferred, Narongsak, with a swollen forehead, claimed that two accomplices, his wife, “Nong Sai,” and a man named “Em,” were also involved in the murder but had not yet been apprehended. He insisted that he did not commit the murder himself and only drove the car.
When questioned about his injuries and why he had hit his head against the prison cell bars, Narongsak stated he was overwhelmed with stress and had no other outlet for his emotions. He maintained that he had no history of killing anyone and lamented that he was the only one being held accountable.
It was reported that after Narongsak returned from the crime scene re-enactment in the morning, he complained of stomach pain and nausea, telling the officers, “No one has called a doctor for me.” He then proceeded to bang his head against the cell bars, resulting in the swelling on his forehead, before falling silent. His claim of two other accomplices involved in the murder remains unverified by the investigation team, who have found no evidence supporting his allegations, deeming it as merely the suspect’s claim.
