BANGKOK, 30 October 2013 The Anti-Corruption Organization of Thailand chairman, Pramon Suthiwong has lodged a petition with the United Nations (UN) in Thailand that the amnesty bill, under Article 3, if passed, would absolve all crimes of corruption.

Mr. Pramon further elaborated that he wanted the UN to keep a close watch on Thailand in regard to its amnesty bill, as it goes against the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) 2003, which Thailand has adopted since March 1, 2011.

Thailand must take anti-corruption measures seriously, said Mr. Pramon, adding that Article 3 in the amnesty bill may also project a negative image of Thailand
