Nakhon si Thammarat – Forest fires in Pa Pru Kruan Kreng Forest in Nakhon Si Thammarat are under control and limited to three spots. Authorities have been providing assistance to affected villagers.
Firefighting operations continue to control the fires which are now limited to areas in Kreng, Mae Chao Yu Hua and Khao Phra Bat sub-districts.
The province has requested 10 water pumps from the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation to assist with supplying firefighting water to the forest, while district chiefs have been instructed to implement strict measures to prevent forest fires and forest trespass, as the cause of this forest fire is suspected to be man-made.
The Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Warawut Silpa-archa said related agencies are now providing assistance to affected villagers, while telecom operators have already fixed the outage of mobile and internet networks caused by the fire.
