NAKHON SI THAMMARAT, 4 April 2014 – The southern province of Nakhon Si Thammarat has kicked off an event to honor HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, on her birthday April 2.
April 2 has also been designated as the Thai Heritage Conservation Day, in honor of the Princess.
Therefore, the province has organized the “Thai Heritage Conservation Festival” to pay homage to the princess and encourage local residents to pay more attention to local intellectual heritage.
The festival, kicked off on April 2, has a lot to offer visitors, such as local crafts, foods, and traditional onstage shows.
The highlights of the event include exhibitions honoring the Princess Maha Chakri, who is an expert on the Thai cultural heritage, modern art, and traditional Thai music and performance as well as painting.
The festival will be wrapped on Sunday April 6.
