NARATHIWAT, 3 May 2015 – Narathiwat province is holding a shooting competition as part of the celebration of the province’s 100th anniversary.

The competition is co-organized by Narathiwat Provincial Tourism and Sports Office and Narathiwat Provincial Internal Security Operations Command. Its objectives are to offer shooting enthusiasts the opportunity to show their skills, and spark interest in the sports among the public. The event is being held at Chulabhorn Camp in Muang district between May 2-3.

The activity attracts a large number of local and foreign athletes from different provinces and neighboring countries. Among the participants is the Crown Prince of Terengganu State of Malaysia. Part of the proceeds will go to charity.

King Rama VI in 1915 conferred the title Narathiwat on the southernmost province, which had previously been called Nara. A series of activities are being launched to celebrate the province’s 100th anniversary.
