BANGKOK – National Astronomical Research Institute director Boonraksa Soontorntham said the agency has signed a partnership with the National Observatory of Japan (NAOJ) for the development of astronomical equipment and exchange of personnel and training programs.

The partnership is primarily designed to push forward a national radio telescope project and install radio telescopes of 40 meters in diameter and 20 meters in diameter in various regions in order to join a remote telescope network with other countries in the future.

That will be a foundation for astronomical development and will inspire youths of the two countries to love nature, science and technology.
