BANGKOK – The Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation (DNP) has waived entrance fees to Thailand’s national parks for families that bring their father, as part of Father’s Day celebrations.
Thai families that come with their father, with an upwards limit of five family members, can enter any of Thailand’s 147 national parks for free on Saturday, December 5th.
DNP Deputy Director-General Thanya Netithammakun said that His Majesty the King placed great importance on the conservation of natural resources and the environment.
He said the parks promotion on Father’s Day is intended to foster close family ties as well as instill an appreciation for nature conservation. The move is also consistent with the government’s support for eco-tourism destinations, which are popular over the holidays.
Those interested can visit the department’s website at www.dnp.go.th. Visitors are also encouraged to report any unlawful activities such as illegal logging at the 24-hour hotline 1362.
