As the much-awaited results of the national Senate election will be announced on Wednesday, the Election Commission (EC) has designated Impact Forum in Impact Arena Muang Thong Thani as the election venue.
EC Chairman Ittiporn Boonpracong inspected the rehearsal for the national-level Senatorial election at the Centara Government Complex Hotel, Chaeng Watthana. The EC provided intensive training to the election committee, security personnel, and peacekeeping officers on the voting process, ballot counting, ballot validity, and vote announcement procedures to ensure uniformity in operations.
A significant concern is the vote announcement, which requires announcing five times but marking only four times. The EC Chairman emphasized the importance of slow and clear announcements. Additionally, the proximity of different groups’ counting stations may cause overlapping number calls, necessitating careful explanation to avoid disputes.
The EC Chairman also stressed strict adherence to the law by all officials. The EC aims to ensure candidates understand the election process from start to finish. He expressed confidence that all officials were prepared to manage the election effectively. (NNT)
