The Royal Society of Thailand marked National Thai Language Day with a special event at The Sukosol Hotel in Bangkok on Aug 3, celebrating the vital role of the Thai language in preserving national identity and cultural heritage. The event featured an academic seminar and an awards ceremony, drawing attention from key figures across various sectors.
Presiding over the opening ceremony, Prime Minister’s Office Minister Jiraporn Sinthuprai underscored the importance of the Thai language in bridging generations amid the country’s rapidly evolving societal and technological landscape. She noted the language’s role in enhancing understanding and communication across different domains of Thai society.
The event honored individuals who have contributed to the preservation and promotion of the Thai language. Among the awardees was Professor Emeritus Dr. Kanchana Naksakul, who received recognition for her dedicated efforts in maintaining and enriching Thailand’s linguistic heritage.
