NBTC holding exhibition on digital TV until Mar 2

BANGKOK, 28 February 2014  A three-day exhibition on digital television has been launched by the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC), with an aim to give the public all necessary information about the new system. 

NBTC Chairman Air Chief Marshal Thares Punsri stated that an exhibition entitled “NBTC: Spectrum Regulator for Thailand Digital Communities” had been opened today in a bid to provide the people with knowledge concerning the country’s transition from the analogue TV system to digital TV as well as how to gain access to the new services when they become available. He said visitors would also get a chance to learn about the upcoming 4G technology.

There is a special arrangement to exhibit the efficiency of 3G broadband services on the 2.1-gigahertz spectrum as well as progress in the system installment at over 18,000 stations across the country. The event also aims to inform all users of mobile and internet services of their rights.

The exhibition is admission-free. It is taking place at Siam Paragon Shopping Complex and will go on until Sunday, March 2.
