BANGKOK, 23 June 2014 – After one month in power, the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) is prepared to announce this week its achievements made so far. The council also indicates that cooperation from all sides has paved the way for national progress.
NCPO Spokesperson Dr Yongyuth Maiyalap disclosed that the NCPO was compiling a report on its operations and achievements during the first month since the council’s establishment. He said the report would be announced to the public within the next 2-3 days while details would be clarified by NCPO Chief Gen Prayuth Chan-ocha in his weekly televised address this Friday.
According to the spokesman, the NCPO has made outstanding progress in the restoration of happiness in the nation, facilitation of reforms, alleviation of people’s financial hardships and suppression of crimes. The management of the 2014 expenditure budget and the preparation of the 2015 appropriation bill have also been high on the NCPO’s agenda and are now headed in the right direction.
Dr Yongyuth stated that many efforts had been successful so far because the public, private and civil sectors had all been cooperative with the NCPO in creating a peaceful atmosphere throughout the country. He said such a high level of cooperation was integral to the council’s mission to drive the nation forward.
