BANGKOK-The construction of an eight lane road aimed at easing traffic congestion in the North of Bangkok is now officially open to traffic.
Bangkok Governor M.R. Sukhumband Boripatra said the new road is among many construction projects meant to lessen traffic density in many areas of Bangkok such as Phra Nakhon and Thonburi districts.
The new eight lane road will help reduce traffic congestion especially after completion of the BTS Sky Train extension currently underway on Pahonyothin Road.
Those wishing to go to Saimai district from Pahonyothin are urged to travel via this new road which leads commuters directly to Rattanakosin Sompot Road as well as other places in the district.
The construction of the new highway was undertaken by Saha Visavaphan Construction Co Ltd and cost the Office of Bangkok Metropolitan Administration approximately 800 million baht.
