New measures facilitate entry to Thailand for Chinese tourists

The Ministry of Tourism and Sports is currently developing a data linkage system for visa document approval that would help shorten the visa approval period.

Thailand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) has announced new, easier visa measures for inbound travelers from China.

  1. The MFA has reduced the number of documents when applying for a visa. The six required documents are (1) biodata page of passport, (2) photograph, (3) flight ticket, (4) proof of accommodation, (5) financial evidence, and (6) document indicating current residency.
  2. The MFA has also shortened the visa approval time from 14 working days to seven working days.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports is currently developing a data linkage system for visa document approval that would help shorten the visa approval period. (PRD)
