BANGKOK,(NNT)-The State Enterprise Policy Office (SEPO) is set to propose to the Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA) Board its decision to allow the BMTA to host an auction of 489 NGV buses.

Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of Transport, Somsak Hommaung will inform the Board of the BMTA on April 26th, of SEPO’s decision to let the BMTA conduct the bidding process for the supply of 489 NGV buses.

It is expected that the BMTA will have a winning bid by the end of June and will sign a purchase contract the following month. The winner will be required to deliver the NGV buses within 90 days.

The BMTA is also set to host a bidding process for 200 electric buses. A forum will be held next week for all stakeholders to share their views before the bidding process takes place. If all goes according to plan, the BMTA will have the first batch of 50 electric buses operating in December and the remaining 150 in 2018.
