PATHUM THANI, 1 September 2015, – The new Rama IX Tap Water Plant in Pathum Thani Province, one of several projects royally initiated by His Majesty the King, officially began its operation yesterday, serving the people in the capital and nearby areas.
The opening ceremony of the new plant was presided over by Sumet Tantivejkul, Secretary-General of Chaipattana Foundation, and attended by Deputy Interior Minister Suthee Makboon.
According to Provincial Waterworks Authority Director Ratana Kitchawan, the Office of the Royal Development Projects Board, the Royal Irrigation Department and related units were responsible for the construction of the new tap water plant.
She said the plant would greatly benefit residents of Bangkok and its vicinity. The new Rama IX tap water plant has a maximum capacity of storing up to 10 million cubic meters of water.
