TAK – A new winter attraction has officially opened in Namtok Pha Charoen National Park that offers a spectacular mountaintop view in Tak province.
According to Namtok Pha Charoen National Park Chief Somchai Santhaweesook, the new tourist site is located on the mountaintop across from Phawo Shrine. The site is also the location of a fortress built during the reign of King Taksin the Great.
The new overlook is only 12 kilometers away from Mueang district, via Highway 105. The best time to see the sea of fog is from 6:00 – 10:00 hrs. It is said that the moon is still visible in the morning when the sun is rising.
Mr. Somchai said he will discuss the implementation of certain measures with the Tourism Authority of Thailand and Phawo Shrine Foundation to make sure the environment around the scenic overlook remains unharmed by tourists.
