BANGKOK, 26 May 2015 – President of the National Legislative Assembly Associate Professor Pornpetch Wichitcholchai has revealed the progress of the project aimed at supporting local readiness for participatory democracy in the era of the upcoming new constitution.
The project is part of the joint effort between the NLA and the Secretariat of the Senate, which aims to educate the public on the country’s political structure, the role of the NLA and how local communities can participate in politics.
According to him, the project has since received positive feedback from the local populace, local administrators and the press, who have enthusiastically participated in the project previously held in the provinces of Udon Thani, Songkhla, Ayutthaya and Chiang Mai. The next round of the program will be held in Nakhon Phanom at the end of June.
