CHUMPHON, 26 July 2015 – Maj Gen Kolchai Suvanboon, a member of the National Legislative Assembly (NLA), held a meeting on national reform with local residents in Chumphon at the Central Agricultural Market in Wangmai, Mueang District.
At the meeting, he told the people that national reform was a must as it was demanded by all groups of activists in the recent political developments. The country was beset with economic, social and many other problems, prompting the need to overhaul the whole system.
“Many problems and obstacles derived from outdated laws and regulations that could not keep pace with the fast-changing society. NLA, as the legislator, must take a leading role in strengthening the legal foundation of the country,” noted Maj Gen Kolchai.
He said his meeting with local people during the weekend was not the duty of an NLA member, but he found that it gave him a chance to directly explain the reform process to locals and learn the actual problems in localities. It helps create a better pulic attitude towards the NLA and the national reform. He stressed the information gained would be useful to his consideration and decision making in the law-making process.
