BANGKOK, 1 November 2014,  National Legislative Assembly member Wanlop Tankhananurak expects that the NLA will require 45 days at most to reach a verdict on the impeachment motion on Nikhom Wairatphanit and Somsak Kiatsuranon.

According to Mr. Wanlop, the NLA will meet on November 6 to deliberate the impeachment motions on former House of Representatives speaker Somsak Kiatsuranon and former Senate speaker Nikhom Wairatphanit, and whether or not the NLA will accept the motion submitted by the National Anti-Corruption Commission.

If the meeting resolves to accept the motion for further consideration, a committee will be established to invite the accused and the accuser for questioning. This process will take 45 days at most, after which the NLA will decide whether to go ahead with the impeachment.
