He said recently with an additional budget of 900 million baht being allocated the authority will be able to eventually supply 230,000 cubic meters a day which is roughly twice the previous amount and that should be able to take care of the needs of households, businesses and hotels for the next ten years, the project is now 95% complete and will be finished by the end of the year.

Preecha added however that the citizens of Koh Larn still face fresh water shortages as the East Water company can only supply 300 cubic meters of fresh water a day which is a tenth of what the islanders require to be able to live and operate their businesses.

He said there is a high possibility that city hall may contact another company that can fulfill the requirements of the islanders and that they will also look into the feasibility of laying pipes from the mainland to Koh Larn.
