Bangkok – State welfare cardholders will have no negative records and no restrictions to financial transactions, according to Finance Ministry Spokesman Lavaron Sangsanit.
He dismissed rumors circulated online alleging low financial credit scores and restricted financial services being provided for welfare cardholders.
He said the Ministry of Finance has not implemented any policy to restrict financial services for cardholders, while the decision to approve loans depends on the discretion of the banks.
The ministry spokesman added the welfare card program is intended to provide welfare and support to eligible cardholders, reduce their costs of living and transportation costs, and provide opportunities for them to improve their occupational knowledge and skills.
