Thailand was taking care of Myanmar refugees temporarily and would not set up a refugee camp, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Don Pramudwinai said.

He was responding to the reports that Thailand was forcing the repatriation of Myanmar refugees who fled violence from their border areas.

He also said that the Association of Southeast Asian Nations would hold a meeting in early April to discuss the issue of Myanmar and would also have a summit on the matter later.

Thailand was trying to convince Myanmar to solve problems by reducing violence first and Myanmar acknowledged Thailand’s message, Mr Don said. (TNA)
