BANGKOK, 25 June 2015 – The President of the National Reform Council has expressed the hope that his fellow council members will have completed all tasks before the casting of votes to approve or reject the draft Constitution.
NRC President Thienchay Kiranandana said on Wednesday that the council has less than three months before its term ends.
Mr. Thienchay said that he would like all NRC members to pick up the pace and complete all tasks, the results of which will be handed to the government before a review of the final draft of the new Constitution, and the casting of votes to accept or reject it.
Concerning the design of questions for a public referendum on the draft charter, Mr. Thienchay stated that there remains time for such a process, although it must be completed before the vote on the new Constitution.
The NRC President is confident that the reform council has been dutifully performing all its responsibilities.
