BANGKOK, 19 June 2015 – A committee under the National Reform Council has restated its determination to rid Thailand of corruption.

According to Dr. Poldej Pinprateep, the deputy chairman of the NRC’s special committee on public participation, during his visits to many provinces to collect their opinions about the draft charter, he found that Thai people, in general, were in favor of the four intents of the new Constitution, including the empowerment of the people, the achievement of clean politics, the promotion of social justice and the restoration of peace in the country.

In brief, Dr. Poldej said that the people wish to see a better Thailand through the effective clampdown on corruption at all levels.

People have also been keen to see the introduction of concrete mechanisms to help realize their dreams, which include the setting up of a people’s assembly and a people’s council responsible for the investigation of political office holders in every province, for instance, said Dr. Poldej.
