NSC confirms peace talk with BRN will go on

BANGKOK, 8 February 2014 The National Security Council (NSC) has reassured that the pending peace dialogue with the Barisan Revolusi Nasional (BRN) would be pushed forward.

NSC Secretary-General Lt Gen Paradorn Pattanathabutr reaffirmed that the peace talk with the BRN militant group had not been called off, but had to be postponed due to the ongoing political conflict in Thailand. He went on to reveal that the NSC had not received any confirmation of negotiation team changes, saying Hassan Taib was still in charge of the BRN team. br>

As for the ongoing unrest in the Deep South, the insurgents are constantly looking for opportunities during this time of political crisis to stir violence and fears among the people. He has, however, assured that soldiers working in the violence-torn areas have been doing their best in protecting the lives of the people in the area.
