BANGKOK, Nov 10 — Thailand’s Office of the Narcotics Control Board (ONCB) on Sunday auctioned more than 500 items of seized drug assets worth more than Bt100 million baht.
The seized drug assets comprised luxury brand new cars, buses, big motorbikes and motor cycles, gold bars and gold ornaments.
ONCB Secretary-General Permpong Chaovalit presided over the opening ceremony of the auction, considered one of the largest ever conducted by the anti-drug agency.
The auction was held in line with the policy of Justice Minister Gen Paiboon Khoomchaya who wants to suppress drug trafficking networks and their financial transactions while providing treatment to addicts in Thailand.
