Police were called out on the early hours of January 9th to a fatal road accident Dong Tal beach soi Jurarat.
At the scene there police found a green Mitsubishi lancer that had been very badly damaged and its driver 34 year old Kriangkrai Jamsawang who had some minor wounds.
The Police also found the wrecked black phantom Honda motorbike which belonged to motorbike taxi driver,52 year old Chalerm Ubolpo who had been transferred to hospital who unfortunaley dead from his injuries.
Pattaya Police Senior Sergeant Major Praiwan Kidpeng said he was on patrol on the morning and was driving his vehicle right when he very loud noise behind him.
He turned back and saw the Honda phantom had been hit by the Mitsubishi Lancer from behind sending the bike driver off the seat and onto the ground.
He said the unlucky person might have been him if he wasn’t contacted on his radio by his fellow police men to change his route to give a hand with a ambush operation in a street off Sukhumvit highway.
The senior sergeant called an ambulance to take the injured to hospital and apprehended the driver of the car.
We have no information as to the cause of the accident and if the driver had been speeding or was intoxicated..
