YALA, 12 June 2014, – The Pitak Prachachat Foundation, The Foundation of Islamic Centre of Thailand and the network of female leaders from the 3 southernmost provinces have together granted a total of 525,000 baht worth of scholarships to outstanding students from the South.
President of the Pitak Prachachat Foundation and Former Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, General Winai Pattiyakul, presided over the scholarship-presenting ceremony, which took place at the Southern Border Provinces Administrative Center (SBPAC) in Yala Province.
According to the event organizers, this is the eighth consecutive year the scholarships have been granted. Every year for the past eight years, 50 eligible students are selected from high school and university students to receive a scholarship of 10,500 baht each, for a combined total of 525,000 baht. Those who received the scholarships expressed their gratitude and promised to spend the funds wisely.
