SURAT THANI, 13 July 2015 – Surat Thani Province is hosting the Southern ‘International Trade Expo’ at Central Plaza Surat Thani between July 23 and 26, during which over a hundred business operators from Thailand’s fourteen southern provinces, India’s port city of Surat, and Malaysia will meet to seek further business opportunities.
Highlights of the expo include product exhibitions and business matching. For the former, the fourteen provinces of Thailand will set up 163 booths, whereas India’s Surat will feature 30 booths; Malaysian operators will also actively participate.
The latter is business matching among developers of rubber-related products and in the tourism industries of the three countries. The matching session will take place at Diamond Plaza Hotel on the first day of the expo. Over seventy companies have confirmed they will attend the event.
The Southern International Trade Expo is organized by the International Trade Promotion Department, Ministry of Commerce, as a stage for businesses in the South to spur their export growth of rubber-related products, as well as for investment and tourism.
Meanwhile, the event is also seen as the great beginning of substantial cooperation between Thailand’s Surat Thani and India’s port city of Surat to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the province’s royally granted name.
