There was panic down on Walking Street as one of the hundreds of signboards burst into flames on the second floor of a tailor shop.
The fire spread pretty quickly and people had to evacuate the adjoining buildings, many in fear of their lives.
The firefighters were quick to attend to the blaze and within thirty minutes the fire had been extinguished.
The sign is completely destroyed by the fire.
After an initial inspection, officers believe that the fire was caused by a short circuit within the signboard.
