Panipak and Chanjam lead Thai athletes’ triumphant return, warmly welcomed by fans

The Thai athletes arrived at Suvarnabhumi Airport on Thai Airways flight TG931, following their participation in the 2024 Olympic Games held in Paris, France, from July 23 to August 11.

The Thai national teams for Taekwondo and Amateur Boxing, led by “Tennis” Panipak Wongpattanakit, who won the gold medal in the women’s 49 kg Taekwondo category, and “Bee” Chanjam Suwanpeng, who secured a bronze medal in the women’s 66 kg boxing category, have returned to Thailand to a warm welcome from fans.

On August 13, the Thai athletes arrived at Suvarnabhumi Airport on Thai Airways flight TG931, following their participation in the 2024 Olympic Games held in Paris, France, from July 23 to August 11.



The athletes were greeted by a welcoming committee, including Mr. Sermsak Pongpanich, Minister of Tourism and Sports, Dr. Kongsak Yodmanee, Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT), and various executives from SAT, Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited, the Taekwondo Association of Thailand, and the Thailand Boxing Association, as well as representatives from supporting organizations. The welcoming ceremony, held at Gate 10 of Suvarnabhumi Airport, was filled with joyous celebrations, attended by the athletes’ families and Thai sports fans, creating a heartwarming atmosphere.



At the 2024 “Paris Games,” the Thai athletes brought home a total of six medals: one gold, three silver, and two bronze. The gold medal was won by “Tennis” Panipak Wongpattanakit in the women’s 49 kg Taekwondo category. The three silver medals were won by “View” Kunlavut Vitidsarn in men’s singles badminton, “Fang” Teerapong Silachai in men’s 61 kg weightlifting, and “Wave” Weeraphon Wichuma in men’s 73 kg weightlifting. The two bronze medals were claimed by “Oil” Surachana Khamba in men’s 49 kg weightlifting and “Bee” Chanjam Suwanpeng in women’s 66 kg boxing.
