PATTAYA, 14 January 2015 – The beach resort town of Pattaya implemented its clean beach day program on January 14.
Previously, Chonburi Governor Komson Akachai had ordered a reorganization of beach vendor operations on the the umbrella-dotted Pattaya and Jomtien beaches, following the initiative of the National Council for Peace and Order to clean up famous beaches across the country to attract tourists.
Governor Komsan also launched a permanent policy that now bans beach bed vendors on Pattaya beach every Wednesday. The program started on January 14 and the deputy governor Chavalit Saeng-uthai led the local media to observe the change.
A large number of local residents and foreign tourists expressed their satisfaction with the policy because the beach again looked clean and beautiful, just as it was before the beach bed sections began to flourish decades ago.
