On the morning of the 5th of December the nation honoured His Majesty the King of Thailand Bhumibol Adulyadej on his 84th birthday.
Festivities were held all over the country to celebrate the birthday of the worlds longest reigning monarch on his 7th cycle and here in Pattaya many events took place to show respect to his majesty on this auspicious day.
In the afternoon government officials, soldiers, police officers, students, vendors and citizens including local and international tourists all dress in pink shirts took part in a parade from Royal Garden Plaza along beach road, walking street and finishing at Bali Hai pier in South Pattaya.
At 6 in the evening Pattaya mayor Ithipol Kunplume was present for a candle lighting ceremony and invited over 1000 people to sing ‘Pid Thong Lang Phra’along with him and Aed Carabao and take part in the filming of a music video entitled ‘ Singing his Name’ which was arranged by Pattaya City, to honor His Majesty this was followed by a magnificent firework display featuring 84 fireworks.
