BANGKOK, 9 May 2014 – The People’s Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) anti-government group has staged another major rally on Friday May 9th. A large number of PDRC supporters have gradually come out to join the movement since early morning.
According to the stage announcement of Mr. Sathit Wongnongtoey, one of the PDRC core leaders, the rally is divided into six groups heading to the Government House and five other major free TV channels.
PDRC secretary-general Suthep Thaugsuban is leading the march to the Government House. He has demanded to talk with Mr. Niwatthamrong Boonsongpaisarn, the acting caretaker prime minister.
Meanwhile, other groups would surround the five major free TV channels by demanding them to stop broadcasting news and other programs that favor the government. Mr. Suthep said that Friday’s movement is just only the first step of the battle to bring down the caretaker government.
