Peaceful charter referendum in Ratchaburi

RATCHABURI – The Ratchaburi provincial Election Commission (EC) has reported that the overall charter referendum in the province proceeded peacefully. The local people were reportedly interested in the vote count.

Director of the provincial EC in Ratchaburi Kittiphong Boribun said no electoral fraud was found in all 1,046 polling stations and expected that unofficial results of the referendum would be announced at 8 PM on Sunday.

After the vote was closed at 4 AM, people gradually went to polling stations to monitor the vote count. As many as 740 people from the total 1,111 eligible voters at a polling station in Mueang district cast their votes on Sunday. Another polling station in the same district had 76% voter turnout and five spoiled ballots.
