Permanent Secretary receives Turkish Ambassador and discusses comprehensive Thailand-Türkiye cooperation

Both sides also reiterated the mutual objective in strengthening relations and cooperation between the two countries in accordance with the 2nd Thai-Turkish Joint Plan of Action (2023-2028) with the aim of establishing a strategic partnership by or before 2027.

Mrs. Eksiri Pintaruchi, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, welcomed H.E. Mrs. Serap Ersoy, Ambassador of Türkiye to Thailand, who paid a courtesy call on the occasion of the former’s assumption of duty on 18 April 2024.

Both sides welcomed the 65th Anniversary of Thailand-Türkiye relations in 2023 and discussed ways to further enhance bilateral cooperation in political, economic and social affairs, defense and security, development, air services as well as cooperation at the regional and international levels such as ASEAN, Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the United Nations.



The Thai side emphasized the Government’s vision on economic and trade promotion including resuming of the FTA negotiations between Thailand and Türkiye, inviting more Turkish investment in Thailand and encouraging Türkiye to utilize Thailand’s strategic location as a gateway for Türkiye to more markets.
