PHANG NGA, Thailand The Hydrological Warning and Monitoring Unit of the Department of Water Resources (DWR) under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment issued a warning to four villages in two districts of Phang Nga province, September 7. The alert was prompted by continuous heavy rainfall, with accumulations exceeding 100 millimeters, raising the risk of flash floods and landslides.



The areas under high alert include Ban Bok Pui (Lam Phi Subdistrict, 95mm rainfall), Ban Hat Sai Khao (Bang Thong Subdistrict, 101mm rainfall), and Ban Bang Tib (Bang Wan Subdistrict, 101mm rainfall) in Tai Muang District, and Ban Klang (Kura Subdistrict) in Kuraburi District, where water levels in local rivers have risen to 2.84 meters, nearing the 4.50-meter critical mark.

Local authorities are on high alert, preparing for potential floods, windstorms, and landslides, particularly in low-lying areas near rivers and mountain slopes. Residents are urged to closely monitor official updates, while all relevant agencies have been instructed to ensure they have materials, equipment, and personnel ready to assist immediately if necessary.
