The upgrade of Hua Hin Airport in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province to an international airport, with its new name “Phetch- Hua Hin,” is set to be completed in late 2025. Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin encouraged relevant agencies in their work during his second inspection of the airport earlier this week.
The Phetch- Hua Hin airport is being improved to serve larger aircraft for international flights. Technology and automatic systems are also being brought in to enhance service and safety standards. The airport will accommodate both domestic and international tourists wanting to visit Hua Hin and Cha-Am beaches, as well as improving connections to other destinations in Thailand.
The move is part of the Government’s effort to push airports in Thailand to the top 20 global rankings in five years, making it the aviation hub in the region. (NNT)
