The Pheu Thai party has postponed Thursday’s planned press conference on the formation of the Pheu Thai-led coalition bloc after the parliament president put off Friday’s parliamentary vote for a new prime minister.
After Pheu Thai announced to break away from the MOU signed with the eight-party alliance and to exclude the election-winning Move Forward party on Wednesday, it said the party would give the details on what parties will join its own prospective coalition government on Thursday.
Pheu Thai’s deputy leader Phumtham Wechayachai said the press briefing must be postponed after parliament president Wan Muhamad Noor Matha put off the joint sitting to vote on a new prime minister indefinitely pending the Constitutional Court’s decision whether it will accept the petition on the rejected re-nomination of Move Forward Party leader Pita Limjaroenrat for deliberation or not. The court rescheduled the date for considering the case for August 16. (TNA)
