Deputy Governor Pichet Panapongn said Phuket will host the Thailand Tourism Congress 2022 (TTC 2022) at Beyond Resort Kata from June 6-8, and Thailand Travel Mart Plus 2022 (TTM+ 2022) at Angsana Laguna Phuket from June 8-10, 2022.

Phuket is set to host two major tourism events in June, as the province indicates its readiness to organize large-scale promotional campaigns to help revive its economy.

According to Phuket Deputy Governor Pichet Panapong, the province will host the Thailand Tourism Congress 2022 (TTC 2022) at Beyond Resort Kata from June 6-8, and Thailand Travel Mart Plus 2022 (TTM+ 2022) at Angsana Laguna Phuket from June 8-10, 2022. The TTC will be attended by over 400 guests, including representatives from the public and private sectors. TMM+ is meanwhile expected to attract over 700 people, including representatives from travel agencies and the media.

Phuket Tourist Association President Bhummikitti Raktaengam said the TTC plays an important role in fostering sustainability and development for the tourism sector. He encouraged tourism-related businesses and associations to attend the TTC to brainstorm ways to attract tourists while minimizing the environmental impact.

Phuket Provincial Administrative Organization President Rawat Areerob said TTM+ provides opportunities for local businesses to establish and enhance partnerships with international companies. The event features media exhibitions, business-matching sessions and a networking dinner.

TTM+ has been jointly organized by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), provincial authorities and the private sector since 2001, though it was canceled for the past two years due to the pandemic. Its revival is part of the government’s plans to reopen Thailand and revitalize its economy, especially the service and tourism sectors. (NNT)
