PM addresses situation of Thai workers in Israel before leaving for China

Prime Minister and Finance Minister Srettha Thavisin expressed concern about the situation of Thai workers in Israel, stating that there is another fatality and one more person has been captured, and the situation remains critical.

Prime Minister and Finance Minister Srettha Thavisin has disclosed that another Thai worker in Israel was killed, with one more person taken into hostage. The Prime Minister addressed this issue before departing for the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation (BRF) in the People’s Republic of China.

He expressed concern about the situation of Thai workers in Israel, stating that there is another fatality and one more person has been captured, and the situation remains critical.



As for cases where employers forced workers to work, even in conflict areas, the Prime Minister confirmed that such cases no longer exist. The government has also coordinated with the Israeli ambassador to ensure that such incidents do not occur again.

Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Panpree Bahiddha-Nukara announced that today at 7:30 PM, another group of 250 Thai nationals will return from Israel. However, six people did not show up despite their scheduled departure, leaving 244 people in this group. It is anticipated that among them, there will be 33 students while the rest of the students have not expressed a desire to return.



The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has provided an update on the situation of Thai nationals affected in Israel today. There are 29 confirmed fatalities, 16 people injured, 17 held captive, and 7,596 people have expressed their desire to return to Thailand. Meanwhile, 99 people have chosen not to return home.
