BANGKOK, 3 August 2015 – Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha yesterday implored all sides to refrain from creating political conflicts and undermining the reform process in the Kingdom.

The Prime Minister made the statement after being asked for his opinion on the Foundation of Mass Public for National Reform, which was formed earlier this year by the members of now-dissolved People’s Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC).

The foundation reportedly aims to promote democracy under a constitutional monarchy and to monitor the reform progress.

The Prime Minister stressed that the formation of such a foundation had nothing to do with the government, and those people involved were free to do so as long as they follow the rule of law. He underlined that the same sentiment was applicable to all other entities, individuals and factions who were planning similar action, while reiterating anyone violating the rules will be punished accordingly.

He urged all sides not to destroy the administration’s efforts to create peaceful atmosphere and progress by inducing political rifts among the residents.
